The Caño Negro and the Rio Frio are some of the most biologically diverse wetland areas in Costa Rica and some of the richest wildlife viewing and birding sites on this continent. Explore the refuge by canoe, and paddle our canoes down the Rio Frio or Rio Los Patos. The tour starts at 6:00 am with a two hour drive to just inside the national refuge, from where you paddle. Late afternoon return to your hotel.

Guides Training field trip to Tarcoles River

Last week our nature guides got together for a training field trip to Tarcoles River and Nosavar farm, located in the central pacific of Costa Rica. We saw an amazing diversity of raptors, 12 different species, including Peregrine Falcon, Bat Falcon, Osprey, Hook-billed Kite, Double-toothed Kite, Short-tailed Hawk and Zone-tailed Hawk! Besides we explored the mangroves, roosting and nesting site for the endangered Scarlet Macaw.
