At Costa Rica Sun Tours we are very excited to announce a new bird species for the country! Famous birdwatcher and friend Jim Zook, member of the Scientific Committee of the Ornithological Association of Costa Rica, observed on September 16th 2013, in Chomes (province of Puntarenas) an individual of Maguari Stork(Ciconia maguari). This stork´s distribution happens primarily in South America, and the closest to Costa Rica it’s been registered before is at Colombia and Venezuela.

In programs like:  tropical rainforests and guanacaste beach , with a little luck we might be able to find this new stork!
