The Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS) in Costa Rica celebrates its 50th Anniversary!!!

We congratulate and honor this prestigious institution for being an international leader in tropical biological research and education.  We invite you to celebrate with us and the OTS the accomplishments and new initiatives planned for the next 50 years to come.

Some of the highlights for the event are as follows:

OTS 50th Anniversary

  • A joint international scientific meeting with the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation.
  • A series of public lectures on grand environmental challenges cosponsored with Costa Rican member institutions.
  • An online project to capture our past through photographs, documents, and interviews.
  • An initiative to transform the stations into models for the efficient use of energy and other resources in the tropics.
