Villa Lapas Sky Way
A combination of 2.5 km (appox. 1.5 miles) of natural trails and hanging bridges built within a wonderful rain forest of centenary trees. These allow the observation of flora and fauna from the ground level to the top of the trees. Located in a private reserve near the Carara National Park, you can see many species of birds and animals depending on the time of day. The trail is accessible to children and seniors alike.

Bijagual Waterfall
Plummeting from the cliffs deep in the jungle, the Bijagual waterfalls await to be discovered by explorers willing to take the challenge and extract the secrets of its location. Climbing the small range between Carara National Park and the Protected Zone of Turrubares, the road to Bijagual is a rewarding experience, filled with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the coastal fishing villages, alternating with dramatic changes in the vegetation. Early risers assisted by expert naturalist guides will enjoy the observation of wildlife, easy to spot in the many canyons crossed by the winding road. After this scenic drive, visitors continue on horseback, the jungle trail leads visitors to within a few hundred yards from where the roaring sound of the waterfalls blends in with the calls of Toucans and Macaws. Explorers can take a plunge in the pristine pools at the base of the waterfalls.

Carara National Park
Located west and slightly south of San José, Carara National Park is nearly at the geographical mid-point of the Pacific Coast. The Park has a transitional climate between the tropical dry northwest and the rainy region of southwest Costa Rica and so contains flora and fauna from both regions. It has year-round wet habitats, and is criss-crossed by several streams and rivers making the reserve a green oasis with its epiphytes, ferns and palms. Carara's habitat includes marshes, primary and secondary forests, and a lake covered with water hyacinth and other floating plants. It is home to parrots, parakeets, toucan, trogons, three species of monkeys, and one of only three viable populations of Scarlet Macaws in Central America. This is the place nearest to San José (2½ hour drive) to see free flying Scarlet Macaws and the rare American Crocodiles that bask along the embankments of the Tarcoles River that passes by the entrance of the reserve

Waterfalls Canopy Tour

Tarcoles River Adventure

Tortuga Island
The islands in the Gulf of Nicoya are the perfect destination for a relaxing sun-filled day. Board a comfortable yacht to cruise through the tranquil waters of the Gulf of Nicoya and anchor off the beautiful white sand beach of the Isla Tortuga. Once on the island there is plenty of time to enjoy this paradise, basking in the sun, dozing in a hammock, swimming or snorkeling. Enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the crew.

Aerial Tram Pacific
A cascading 40-foot waterfall, giant rainforest trees and panoramic views of the ocean are all part of the ride at the pacifici Rain Forest Aerial Tram. Open air gondolas with canvas awnings seat eight passengers and a naturalist guide. The modified ski lift skims the forest floor and then soars to a maximum of 130 feet above a rugged valley. The hour long ride on the Pacific Tram sits on a private 210 acre reserve.

RainMaker Reserve
RainMaker is a private reserve consisting of primary rainforest that forms an important corridor for migrating birds and wildlife. Rafting - Savegre River
This full day adventure includes an incredible 4/wheel drive journey which takes you in to a very remote back country of the Río Savegre for a 4 hour guided Rafting trip with class II / III / IV rapids in rafts for 6 people. There are great swimming holes and a large variety of birsds and primary jungles. We will stop in a little village called "Río Blanco" for a Tico style lunch in a thatched roof restaurant with great views and a nature path. We also stop at some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area with many blooming heliconias.
