This region is the southern extension of Northern Guanacaste and shares the same climate pattern of a long six month dry warm season from November to May. In the rainy months, rainfall is relatively scant and most mornings dawn bright and sunny. Most rainfall occurs in the early afternoon and clears before nightfall. This area is also know for its beautiful beaches, endless summer weather, attractive resort hotels and warm Pacific waters.  Popular beach areas to visit include Tamarindo, Samara, and Islita among others.
