Tiskita Jungle Lodge

 

Day 1: CHARTER FLIGHT TO TISKITA RESERVE AND JUNGLE LODGE (L,D)

Your adventure begins with a scenic flight from the local airport to the South Pacific coast, with arrival to Tiskita Jungle Lodge. Tiskita is a guest lodge adjacent to its own forest reserve of several hundred acres and lined by a coconut- grove onthe beach.  Tiskita is renowned for its incredible wildlife which includes three species of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, tent bats, and basilisk lizards; 270 species of birds including parrots and scarlet macaws. The Lodge offers a tropical fruit orchard where you can sample tastes from its collection of over 100 tropical fruits, collected from around the world. This day you may walk the beach, cool off in a rainforest pool, and observe wonderful wildlife all around you!

Day 2: RAINFOREST WALK (B,L,D)

Every morning you may join the naturalist guide for an optional bird walk before breakfast. You may observe the rich and colorful variety of birds around the lodge when they are most active (free). Following breakfast, you will have a guided hike into the Tiskita rainforest reserve which features huge, ancient trees and protects many rare species such as mahogany. After your hike you will have free time to relax or explore on your own. You may walk to the nearby seaside village of Punta Banco or see the famous surf break at nearby Pavones. Observe life in the tide pools at the beach, view a little waterfall, or sign up for additional activities such as horseback riding, snorkeling, biking, surfing, kayaking, or sea fishing.

Day 3: ORGANIC TROPICAL FRUIT WALK (B,L,D)

This day you will enjoy a guided hike and sample a tour in the organic fruit orchard.  Coming from all corners of the globe, the fruits in the orchard are rarely seen outside their countries of origin because they cannot be exported due to their soft, non durable textures.  You will likely encounter many varieties of fruit that you may have never seen or tasted before! This is also a good place to observe birds and wildlife in the early mornings and late afternoons, these birds also enjoy the fruits in the orchard. In the afternoon, you will have free time to enjoy optional activities such as horseback riding, sea fishing, surfing lessons, rainforest trails and more, or sit back and learn about the local community and conservation programspioneered by Tiskita.

 Day 4: CHARTER FLIGHT TO SAN JOSE (B)

After check out from the Tiskita Lodge. You will take a charter flight to San Jose. Once in San Jose you are free to continue your trip as convened with your agent.

Includes: Charter flights. Rainforests natural history hikes. Birding mornings. Organic tropical fruit walk and beach time. Transportation, park fees, meals and guide services as indicated.

Not Included: International airfare, airport departure taxes, meals not specified in the itinerary, alcoholic beverages, personal equipment, extras in hotels (laundry, phone calls, room service), gratuities, or costs associated with changes in your itinerary for reasons beyond our control.
